What is device data security?

For instance, Pointsec for Symbian OS enables encryption of data stored in the mobile device and data saved on MultiMedia Cards (MMC), ensuring that it is difficult to access information on lost or stolen cards.

Nokia continues to forge product relationships with leading-edge technology vendors in the field of data and mobile device protection. For example, our relationship with Pointsec enables the encryption of user data such as email, SMS and MMS messages, calendar and contacts as well as memory card data. The solution is being made available for Nokia S60 devices and Nokia Series 80 devices, starting with the Nokia 9500 Communicator.
