Intellisync Mobile Suite Beats RIM BlackBerry As Best Mobile Wireless Email System
SAN JOSE, CA (05/18/04) - Intellisync Corporation (Nasdaq: SYNC), a leading provider of synchronization and mobilization software, today announced that its Intellisync Mobile Suite software won Network Computing magazine's 2004 Well-Connected Award as "Best Mobile Wireless Email System". The Intellisync solution, which provides wireless access to a wide range of enterprise data, was selected over a dozen competing products based on performance, price and number of supported devices.
Intellisync and other Well-Connected Award winners were recognized in a CMP awards ceremony last week in Las Vegas. The awards honor the year's outstanding technology products and services in the networking arena. Network Computing editors chose the winners from a group of products that have been tested and evaluated in the publication's Real-World Labs.
"The Well-Connected Awards are the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world product testing and evaluation," said Fritz Nelson, VP and group publisher of Network Computing's Enterprise Architecture Group. "We view all products, technologies and services from the same perspective our readers - our peers - do. This is an important distinction from any other award program - the products selected in the Well-Connected Awards are unique because they have been tested over an enterprise by our editors themselves. They are truly innovative solutions that work."
Network Computing initially praised Intellisync Mobile Suite in a previous article that evaluated wireless email technology. Editors were impressed by the performance and tight integration of all four components of Intellisync Mobile Suite. Also commended were the wide variety of mobile devices and wireless networks the product supports. These are some of the same factors that led to the product's recognition at last week's awards ceremony.
"Intellisync Mobile Suite went through testing that was both rigorous and comprehensive, emerging as the No. 1 recommended mobile wireless email system," explained Intellisync Chief Marketing Officer Rip Gerber. "We believe this recognition validates that there is a powerful alternative to BlackBerry in the enterprise wireless market today. We are seeing a market where enterprise and carrier executives are demanding more head-to-head comparisons between an installed BlackBerry device network and an Intellisync platform that provides end-to-end connectivity - from BlackBerry sync on the desktop to wireless solutions that connect virtually any device to almost any enterprise application. Sophisticated IT organizations realize that mobility is more than just wireless email. Enterprise mobility demands an integrated solution - PIM synchronization, push email, mobile systems management, custom data and file synchronization - a solution that Intellisync has built to address the complex needs of the large enterprise."
